Ch'ien Chien is proud to exhibit the entire work cycle Notre Travail Benefique, by Xavier Gautier. These sound works are often based on excerpts from film soundtracks, lightly yet preciously manipulated by the artist. Xavier started working on the series in 1999, and has until this date made 38 pieces - almost two decades of works, with a total duration of just over an hour. This will be the first time the series is exhibited in its entirety. In addition to Notre Travail Benefique, a selection of the artist's films will also be shown, including his seminal Family Films (2000-2005). Tea and cake will be served at the opening.

Xavier Gautier is an artist living in Paris. His work was exhibited through gallery Alain Gutharc between 2004 and 2010. He is now working as a librarian at the Institute of Art and Archeology and is writing a novel.
